Oriental and modern rugs are coloured and finished in many different ways using different materials, dyes and processes in their construction. Our technicians are trained to recognize, test and diagnose the best method of cleaning for you particular rug. This may be either in the form of dry cleaning or the more regular extraction cleaning method. You can rely on ServiceMaster Clean to bring the original colours of your rug back to life with a deep down clean.

A typical rug cleaning procedure would be as follows (extraction method):

1. Inspect and pre-test the rug
2. Turn the rug upside down and vacuum
3. Turn the rug face side up and vacuum again
4. Treat spots where needed
5. Spray apply the appropriate ServiceMaster detergent
6. Rinse extract the backside of the fringes, face of rug and front side of fringes
7. Groom rug
8. Treat fringes
9. Dry flat or hang dry (may use air movers or fans)
10. Brush out fringes
11. Inspect rug

The above process may be repeated a second time depending on the level of soiling and the results of the technician’s inspection.
